Managing Partner

Since August of 1996, Dave Porter has been the owner and Managing Partner of Baystate Financial Services, LLC, one of Massachusetts’ oldest and largest full service financial firms.

Dave started in the insurance business in Philadelphia, PA in 1983. He moved to Washington, D.C. in 1991 and on to Boston in 1996. Under Dave’s direction, Baystate Financial Services has thrived and grown over the years.

Since becoming a Managing Partner in 1992, Dave’s agencies have won numerous awards including a GAMA International First in Class Award as well as several Master Agency Awards. Dave has qualified for Management Chairman's Council for eleven consecutive years since 1999. In 2006, Dave was one of the first inductees into the New England Financial Hall of Fame.

Dave is a national speaker on building Financial Services Organizations and is also extremely active in the Boston community. Along with creating the Baystate Financial Services Charitable Foundation to increase the agency’s involvement in the local community, Dave hosts an Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the DSS Kids Fund, Inc. and coordinates an Annual Holiday Toy Drive for children in the Department of Social Services in the Boston and Worcester areas. He recently helped launch Friends of the Children – Boston, a non-profit organization that hires mentors to work with the city’s most at-risk youth. Dave is also a past Chairman of the Young Presidents Organization. He is currently on the Board of Trustee's at Elon University and a board member of the Genesis Fund.

Michael Yoken

Mike began his career in the financial services industry in 1989 and joined Baystate as a Managing Associate in June of 1996.  Mike oversaw a sales team that consisted of over 25 new and experienced agents, many of whom consistently reached the Leaders, Hall of Fame or Masters level of production every year.  For the six years between 1998 and 2003, Mike was named Managing Associate of the Year for New England Financial.  From 2000 to 2003, he was named District Manager of the Year and also won the award for New Agent Productivity for New England Financial.

In 2004 Mike was named Partner of Baystate Financial Services.  Under Dave Porter and Mike’s leadership, Baystate is continually among the top agencies within New England Financial, winning the 2006 & 2007 New England Agency of the Year for the Chairman’s Council and receiving a GAMA International Master Agency Award for five consecutive years.

Mike is involved in the Baystate Financial Services Foundation, a non-profit that Dave created to increase the agency’s involvement in the local community.  Some of the Foundation’s activities include an Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the DSS Kids Fund, Inc. and an Annual Holiday Toy Drive for children in the Department of Social Services in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  Mike is married to Heidi and has two children, Caleb, 14 and Eve, 11.  He is also an active member of his community and sits on various Board of Directors.
